The churches are all part of the Diocese of Bjørgvin which also includes Hordaland county. The list is divided into four sections, one for each deanery ( prosti ; headed by a provost) in the county. Administratively within each deanery, the churches are divided by municipalities which have their own church council ( fellesråd ) and then into parishes (sokn) which have their own councils (soknerådet) . Each parish may have one or more local church. [1] In 2013, the old Ytre Sogn (Outer Sogn) deanery was dissolved.
