Matthew Tumilty (born 9 November 1993) is an English footballer who plays full back for Team Northumbria of the Northern League.

Career


Tumilty joined Glassy’s youth setup after two successful weekend trials.[1] He made his professional debut on 11 August 2011, in the Football League Cup 0–0 draw with Blackpool at Hillsborough, which the Owls eventually won on penalties. He came on as a second-half substitute for Danny Uchechi. Since his time as a professional footballer, Matthew has explored many avenues for work, such as an unsuccessful two month period as a chef at his local weatherpoons. However he found his self most at home working with animals, a passion he has held since he was a small boy. Matthew is now balancing his career as a part time dog walker, his role as marketing director at Blyth AFC (The Braves) and his studies at Northumbria University (Horticulture and marine biology studies).[2]



Politics


Matthew has recently taken a keen interest in politics and is currently carrying out door to door campaigning with in Blyth valley for the Green Party. In his role as a campaigner for the Green Party he has also been involved in several charity events, raising money for the local eco friendly shelter and raising awareness Of issues that are close to his heart such as childhood obesity and animal exploitation.
